For the first time International Girls in ICT Day was organized in Zaporizhzhya

Zaporizhzhya State Engineering Academy held International Girls in ICT Day 2015 on April 23.
Girls in ICT Day is an annual initiative hosted by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), specialized agency of the United Nations. This is the fourth year Cisco supports events associated with Girls in ICT Day.

Over 90 girls and boys from 11 educational facilities from Zaporizhzhya and Zaporozhzhya region got an opportunity to see and experience ICTs in a new light encouraging them to consider a future in technology, and in Internet of Everything.
Cisco Networking Academy in Zaporizhzhya State Engineering Academy put efforts to make this event happen in Zaporizhzhya.

IT women who got success in IT with inspiration told students about their work, the path they took to pursue the dream, and answered questions. Anastasia Marchenko, System Engineer Cisco, told that she was learning all the time, because in IT you should never stop. Olga Epur, developer in ISD ISD, former student in ZSEA, told about attractive job positions in software development companies. Olha Novikova, senior lecturer in ZSEA and Cisco ITC instructor, enthusiastically spoke out about IoE.

During the registration, students had the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge in Cisco Binary Game get prizes with Cisco Networking Academy logo. Networking Academy instructors who had successfully worked during the year were awarded with Linsys E1200-EE routers, to assist in learning IT courses.

Everyone who attended the Girls Day in ICT 2015 got free access to course «Internet of Everything» in NetSpace. Perhaps, this interesting course from Cisco Networking Academy will open the way for girls and boys in their ICT career.
